Trigger point dry needling is a technique for releasing trigger points in muscles. These are more commonly referred to as knots in the muscle tissue. Dry needling is based on the principles of treating myofascial trigger points as outlined by Dr. Janet Travell and is used to treat a variety of issues such as; muscle pain, tension and other dysfunctions.
The technique is performed by a Chartered Physiotherapist who has undergone specific training and after full examination to assess the suitability of the technique, superficial or deep dry needling may be applied.
Corinne Evans Physiotherapy Clinic uses electrotherapy trigger point locators (Pointer Excel II) to specifically isolate the taut band and tender nodule of the trigger point location so your treatment can be specifically targeted for you.
